Extra Large Dog Crate – The responsible and loving owners of pit bulls refer to their cage, as a kennel or corral. It is use to contain dogs at home, as a kind of doggie lair, to help train them to be at home, to control the euphoria of the puppy and to transport your dogs in cars, planes or trains. The cage should be long enough so that your dog can lie down and stretch and high enough to sit or stand with a straight back.
With room for the head. While your dog stops, determine the correct size of the extra large dog crate, measuring the height of its legs to the top of the head, and the length from the nose to the tail. The American pit bull terrier can grow between 14 and 22 inches (35.5 and 56 cm) tall and weigh between 22 to 110 pounds (10 and 50 kg).
Higher and heavier pits are not common and do not require an extra large dog crate. The basic size cage needed for an average adult would have to be 36 inches (91.5 cm) long by 23 inches (58.5 cm) wide by 25 inches (63.5 cm) high, and 36 inches (91, 5 cm) long by 24 inches (61 cm) wide by 27 inches (68.5 cm) tall for the largest. Metal cages are the best because they can be folding and store when not in use.
